LAIKA, the studio that brought us the Oscar-nominated animated feature 'ParaNorman,' is reuniting with Focus Features for a new animated project called 'The Boxtrolls' and it sounds too cute. Are these guys the new Pixar?
What started with 'Shaun of the Dead' and continued with 'Hot Fuzz' will conclude with 'The World's End', the third comedy in Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright's so-called "Cornetto Trilogy." While the two lads will almost certainly collaborate on future projects, this is the end of a significant body of work for millions of film fans, to be sure. So let's celebrate with two new pictures and a unholy amount of beer, what do you say?
The world was supposed to end today (newsflash: it didn't) and yesterday we got a first look at one upcoming apocalyptic comedy, the Seth Rogen and James Franco film 'This Is the End.' Today we get our first official look at 2013's other apocalyptic comedy, the Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost film 'The World's End.'
'The World's End' reunites Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as they once again join forces to bring us a genre-bending feature and the culmination of a quasi-trilogy that includes 'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Hot Fuzz'. 'The World's End' a comedy that sees a pub-crawl and the end of the world duel for the attention of a group of tipsy friends.
'The World's End' poster has just been revealed which suitably imitates a pub sign while also foreshadowing a fiery end to the Earth. Check the whole poster out after the jump;, where you'll also find out when it's scheduled to hit theaters!
Though it starts shooting in a month, we haven't heard too much about the casting for Edgar Wright's 'The World's End.' Sure, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are in it - it is the supposed final chapter of their Cornetto trilogy - but the trio have often scored some great British actors for their supporting cast. Now they've added a Bond girl.
Comic-Con 2012 just made fans of Edgar Wright's "Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy" very happy with an announcement from Universal Pictures that the final film in the series, 'The World's End' has been greenlit. They've even given us the first official poster for the film, which you can check out below!
Though we've been hearing about the project forever, and marveled at upcoming TNT drama and Frank Darabont period piece 'L.A. Noir's cast, we've yet to see anything official. Not only that, but TNT has yet to announce whether or it'll take the Darabont-helmed show to series as the pilot continues filming, but now new set photos have given us our first look at former 'Walking Dead' star Jon Bernthal, as well as a very famous star guesting in the pilot.
When you're attached to a J.J. Abrams movie, you're automatically sworn to keep quiet on some of the key plot points and characters in order to lure the fans in. But when you're dealing with a sequel as monstrous as 'Star Trek 2,' fans will begin to make up all sorts of rumors, especially one that actor Simon Pegg is tired of answering.
