Did a CBS sitcom just become our new favorite comedy pick of pilot season? You betcha! Having previously cast comic legend Robin Williams, CBS pilot 'Crazy Ones' has made yet another terrific addition: former 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' star Sarah Michelle Gellar! Okay, so former 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' star Sarah Michelle Gellar's big return to TV with The CW's 'Ringer' didn't exactly work out, but you can't keep a good slayer down. No, it's not that 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' animated series we'd heard about, or even a guest spot under Joss Whedon on ABC's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series, but rather Sarah Michelle Gellar is reportedly returning to TV in another starring vehicle. Find out the details of SMG's new venture inside!

It's hard to believe that Hollywood ever doubted Joss Whedon, what with 'The Avengers' still raking in the dough, and his glorious impending return to TV with ABC's subsequent 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series, yet only a few years ago the acclaimed director had trouble getting several TV series off the ground. Whedon's breakout success 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' enjoyed an acclaimed run, but what does the director most strongly regret Hollywood never afforded him the chance to do with the show?

'How I Met Your Mother' Preview: Seth Green and Alyson Hannigan Reunite on "The Final Page"

by Kevin Fitzpatrick December 13, 2012 @ 9:45 PM
'How I Met Your Mother' has featured some strongly meta casting in the past eight years, but little that warmed our hearts as much as seeing former 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' couple Seth Green and Alyson Hannigan reunited for Monday's upcoming episode "The Final Page." We saw a picture of the reunion earlier, but are you ready to see Willow and Oz together again for real? Check out the latest clip!

While much of the East Coast continues whipping itself into a frenzy over the incoming "Frankenstorm," we've just received confirmation that everything is going to be alright with the world. For you see, Willow and Oz are getting back together! For non-Whedon nerds, that is to say that Seth Green will guest star on the current (and potentially final) season of 'How I Met Your Mother,' alongside his former 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' co-star Alyson Hannigan. But, who will the one-time werewolf portray?

'The Big Bang Theory' Season 6 Taps 'Buffy' Vet To Date Howard's Mom

Sheesh, cut the guy a break, eh?  While earlier today we learned of yet another out-of-this-world headache that Howard Wolowitz would face during his time up in outer space, it seems even back on Earth the challenges are never ending for 'The Big Bang Theory' character.  In spite of his many efforts to distance himself from his mother over the years, what happens when she finds a new man of her own?  And one with a face chewed off by hyenas, at that?  Okay, we might be exaggerating a bit.

Joss Whedon's 'Hulk' + Angel -- Dead Ringers?

Regardless of what our dueling critics say, the Joss Whedon-directed 'Avengers' was in the top two best movies of the summer (if it wasn't for 'The Dark Knight Rises,' we could definitively call it the best). Now, as if over night, being a geek is suddenly "cool" and tons of non-comic-book-reading fans are pretending that they were hip to the subculture before everyone else.
Well, Whedon practically began the geek fad way before it actually became mainstream. Take 'Buffy' and 'Angel' as examples. These shows had amassed huge cult followings at the time of their airing, and Whedon paid homage to his earlier works in 'The Avengers.' See if you can spot it...

Is The CW Looking for the Next 'Buffy' in 'Embrace?'

Mighty strong words indeed, but that's the buzz going around The CW's upcoming development project 'Embrace.'  Though it's been nearly ten years since 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' went off the air in 2003, The CW is reportedly looking to capture a bit of that old magic by developing a new female-centric supernatural drama, based on the 'Embrace' novel by Jessica Shirvington.  Could the network have a new cult hit on its hands, or be growling up the wrong tree?

Which 'Buffy' Star was Rejected for 'True Blood'?

The WB / HBO
If you're anything like us, modern vampire fiction can be a little bit hard to watch after growing up with Joss Whedon's superlatively funny and original 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.'  But now that Joss Whedon is out there making his billions of dollars off 'The Avengers,' which one of his former stars tried to get back in on the vampire game by auditioning for a role in 'True Blood?'  And oh sweet Moses, why ever would they be rejected?
