Stephen King Hints at Potential Plans for ‘11.22.63’ Sequel

Equal parts electrifying and enigmatic (what baffling performance of James Franco’s isn’t?), Hulu’s take on Stephen King’s time-travel thriller 11.22.63 completed the basic spine of the author’s novel, centered around the assassination of JFK. That said, the limited series’ breakout success wasn’t lost on Hulu or King, who revealed some surprising ideas for a sequel.

We’re getting close to the premiere of Hulu’s James Franco / J.J. Abrams / Stephen King thriller 11.22.63, early buzz of which has been pretty strong. You can see for yourself in the first clip, as Franco learns of the deep mystery surrounding Lee Harvey Oswald and JFK’s assassination, as outlined by Chris Cooper. It’s like time-travel Mad Libs!

There is no combination of the phrases “James Franco,” “time travel,” “save JFK,” or “Hulu” that fails to amuse, and yet, J.J. Abrams and Stephen King have gone ahead and given it their darnest. Not that the collaboration of Stephen King, James Franco and J.J. Abrams in a JFK-saving time-travel drama wasn’t enough for Hulu’s upcoming event series 11.22.63, the latest trailer definitely puts it over the mark. Join Franco, as he goes from orchestrating assassinations to stopping them, and apparently battling a swarm of cockroaches along the way.

It’s been some time since we last checked in on Hulu’s James Franco-starring adaptation of Stephen King time-travel drama 11.22.63, but time is of the essence in its official premiere. The J.J. Abrams-produced series has a Presidents Day 2016 appointment to stop the assassination of JFK, and we have the first photos.

This weekend 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' hit theaters (making over $91 million at the box office), and disappointed anyone who sat through all the end credits thinking they'd get additional footage about the next movie.
