Now that Stephen Colbert’s Late Show continues humming along through its third week, eyes turn to Trevor Noah and the September 28 premiere of our new Daily Show on Comedy Central. First up after Jon Stewart’s departure, Noah has set comedian Kevin Hart, GOP hopeful Chris Christie, and musician Ryan Adams among his first guests of the new tenure.

South Park managed to miss out on so much ripe material over the course of 2015, it wasn’t any wonder last week’s premiere split the bill between Caitlyn Jenner, Deflategate and PC culture. Now, our first look at Wednesday’s followup “Where My Country Gone?” tackles the orange-skinned elephant in the room, as the boys explore immigration. Again.

Given all the focus on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show debut, Trevor Noah’s upcoming ascension of The Daily Show, and the mountain of attention-grabbing guests competing for ratings, Comedy Central’s The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore hasn’t garnered as much spotlight. Fortunately, Wilmore has plenty of time to win it back, now that the network has ordered additional Nightly-ness through 2016.

As Hannibal fans this weekend (and billions of others before them) can attest, too long has the antiquated Nielsen ratings system given an incomplete picture of a show’s viewership, swaying networks to and fro of cancellation. We may finally have some progress however, as Nielsen will begin taking into account streaming data from the likes of Hulu, Netflix and beyond.
