‘Da Vinci’s Demons’ has, so far, promised a lot and mostly delivered on the premise of Leonardo Da Vinci as fifteenth century bad-ass. He’s smart, he gets all the chicks, he can fight, and yet because he’s Leonardo Da Vinci, he’s still pretty likeable. And with an eight episode order for the first season, it’s likely the series is working much more as a mini-series than your standard issue episodic show, as each episode so far has done a good job of moving the ball forward. Tonight’s episode “The Prisoner” is more episodic than the previous episodes, but still engaging.
We knew Leonardo Da Vinci to be brilliant, but talk about speedy! This past Friday saw Starz highest-rated debut to date with the David S. Goyer-penned 'Da Vinci's Demons,' and the edgy cable network has wasted no time in locking down the re-invented inventor for another season. 'Da Vinci's Demons' season 2 will officially bow in 2014, but will anything prove different from the first time around?
Now that 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' has officially fallen, and 'Da Vinci's Demons' has invented some of Starz' best ratings yet for an original series debut, the network has finally started plundering toward the real treasure ahead. 2014 will see the debut of the Michael Bay-produced pirate drama 'Black Sails,' but will it prove the next great historical epic, or a watered-down mess? Check out the first official trailer for 'Black Sails' inside!
This past weekend, the 'Spartacus' franchise and its multiple iterations finally came to a climactic end with series finale event 'Victory,' closing out 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' on a hopeful, if tragic note that gave true history its due. And yet, plenty of deaths and survivals within the finale gave fans pause, so what does series creator Steven S. DeKnight have to say of the different ways 'Spartacus' could have ended? Get the latest on the 'Spartacus' closer inside!
‘Spartacus: War of the Damned’ makes a last stand with its tenth and final episode of the farewell season “Victory,” as Spartacus (Liam McIntyre) leads the rebels into ultimate battle against Crassus (Simon Merrells) and his legions, buying enough time for the remaining slaves to escape to freedom.
Last week’s ‘Spartacus: War of the Damned’ episode “The Dead and the Dying” saw Spartacus capturing Tiberius (Christian Antidormi) to hold gladiator games in honor of Crixus’ memory, while a desperate Crassus tasked Caesar (Todd Lasance) with rescuing his son, so what will the last episode of ‘Spartacus’ final season bring? Will the rebel armies triumph over Rome, or go down in history as a failed slave uprising?
