Here’s why you should hate Mike Sampson, the editor-in-chief of ScreenCrush, even though he’s a good guy and a good boss: Last night, Mike was one of the first people on Earth-616 to see Avengers: Age of Ultron. He and a select group of journalists (which did not include me) saw Marvel’s much-anticipated sequel last night, ahead of this weekend’s big Avengers press junket. For this, he deserves our jealousy, or envy, and our deep, abiding hatred. Let it flow out of you. Yes, doesn’t that feel good?
Avengers: Age of Ultron - Page 7
Thanks to the fine folks at Dr. Pepper (who make the world taste better, if memory serves), we have a brand new Avengers: Age of Ultron featurette. The latest video takes us behind the scenes of the upcoming super-film with director Joss Whedon and the cast as they explain what makes each of the Avengers so special — and what makes the challenges in the sequel so particularly challenging. As an added bonus, there’s also a little helping of new footage on display.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is less than a month away and it seems that most of the film’s biggest secrets have managed to remain hidden. The film has done a particularly good job of keeping Paul Bettany’s Vision a mystery from everyone who ... oh, wait. They went ahead and fully revealed Vision on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Nevermind.
It's not much of surprise these days when a major movie announces it is going to be released in IMAX. But, Disney has taken things to the next level with a new three-year partnership with IMAX that will see all the upcoming Marvel and Star Wars films, plus a number of live-action tentpoles and select animated films released in IMAX theaters.
ScreenCrush’s Comic Strip is a weekly roundup of the hottest superhero movie/TV news items. From Marvel to DC and points in between, if it pertains to costumed comic book heroes, we’re covering it here, bringing you our expert analysis. This week, the new Deadpool movie looks great, plus lots and lots of Marvel movie updates.
It’s a little strange that one of the most anticipated moments in Avengers 2 isn’t even something that takes place during the movie. Of course, we all want to see the team battle Ultron, but fans are already abuzz over what will be revealed in the post-credits scene. No need to wait any longer! We now have our answer, courtesy of director Joss Whedon: nothing.
We’re approaching that point in the ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ marketing campaign where it can start to feel like we’ve already seen every big stunt and setpiece in the film before the movie’s even opened. But the new ‘Avengers’ trailer reveals yet another amazingly cool beat that’s never been seen before: Chris Evans’ Captain America loses his shield in battle with James Spader’s Ultron, so Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow snatches it while trailing the fight on a motorcycle, then slides under a semi-truck Fast & Furious-style and tosses it up to Cap so he can continue the battle. Awesome awesome awesome. (Marvel’s going to try to use that as a pull-quote on the poster, aren’t they?)
Woosh woosh! The Avengers: Age of Ultron trailers have been awesome and action-packed and have certainly done their job of getting us properly amped for the May 1 release. But you haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen this version, which features little kids providing all of the dialogue and sound effects. Ultron is pretty darn cute when he’s voiced by a kid. Plus, there’s so many woosh sounds! Woosh!
Age of Ultron offers the most formidable and terrifying Marvel villain yet, but don’t let the seriousness of that threat fool you — the latest featurette for Avengers: Age of Ultron takes you behind the scenes of the upcoming super-sequel, and unsurprisingly, working on this movie was a whole lot of fun (but still exhausting).
Every good superhero has to upgrade his costume from time to time. Superman lost his underwear for Man of Steel. Batman got nipples for Batman & Robin. It’s just part of the superhero job. But Iron Man may be taking his job to extremes. In just five onscreen appearances — Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Avengers, Iron Man 3 and the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron — Tony Stark has created an astounding 45 armors. We’re here to take a look back at all 45 of them (plus the odd War Machine or Iron Patriot).
