'The Walking Dead' made a big change in its third season, focusing on the human threats of the zombie apocalypse moreso than the walkers themselves, a change that most would agree significantly improved the show's focus and excitement. With four episodes remaining in the third season however, and a change of leadership in store for the fourth, will 'The Walking Dead' season 4 stick with the Governor, bring in a new villain, or find a new menace for the survivors altogether?

Fans of 'The Walking Dead' know that a conflict between Rick and the Governor is inevitable, even if the two try to talk a few things out in this Sunday's all-new episode "Arrow on the Doorpost." Even as one of the best-received aspects of season three however, The Governor may not survive much longer than the upcoming season finale. So what will season 4 of 'The Walking Dead' bring, if indeed the Governor loses his war?

ComicBookResources had a chance to speak to executive producers Robert Kirkman and Gale Anne Hurd of the show's future, and where season 4 will initially head under new show-runner Scott M. Gimple. Teasing that the first eight episodes of season 4 would remind Rick's group that the titular walking dead can still prove dangerous, Hurd said "We are going to amp up the threat of the walkers, because they've started to seem like a manageable threat. They are not a manageable threat."

Hurd also teased that more from Rick's group would begin to question if Rick's style of leadership was ultimately a threat to the group, while Kirkman continued to assert that season 4 would continue the mix of drawing from the comics and injecting original material into the mix. Whether or not the Governor or the prison will continue to be in play remains to be seen with the final four episodes of season 3.

Well, what say you? Would you like to see 'The Walking Dead' placing zombies back as the main threat for season 4, or would you prefer to see the Governor fall and a new villain join the mix? Give us your hopes of 'The Walking Dead' season 4, and tell us your predictions for season 3 in the comments!
