Marvel really delivered the goods at Comic-Con last weekend, and while the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 footage got everyone in Hall H pretty pumped, nothing was as awesome as the short film Taika Waititi made for Thor: Ragnarok. Although that footage hasn’t made its way online (and probably won’t anytime soon), Waititi has shared a couple of pieces from the short, which shows us what Thor was up to while the Avengers were off fighting in their big Civil War.

Since the Rangarok crew had only been filming for a handful of days, there wasn’t any actual footage they could bring to Comic-Con. Instead, Taika Waititi and Chris Hemsworth got together to make a hilarious short film to explain Thor’s absence in Civil War. Presented in the style of a mock-doc like The Office, the short finds Thor living in Australia with a flatmate named Daryl:

In his free time, Thor has also been investigating Thanos all by himself, which is pretty impressive, all things considered. Waititi shared this photo from the short, which depicts some of the intel Thor has gathered so far — like the fact that Thanos doesn’t like standing up:

It’s particularly delightful since the rest of the Avengers — sans Hulk — have been so preoccupied with their in-fighting that no one is paying attention to the fact that there’s this giant purple guy in a space chair who is trying (and mostly failing, so far) to collect powerful stones so he can take over the universe. That’s kind of a big deal, you know?

Meanwhile, Tessa Thompson has also been sharing some updates, including this set photo that shows off her sword:

The Creed star is playing the role of Valkyrie, an Asgardian hero whom Odin personally selected to lead the Valkyrior — a team of elite female warriors.

Thor: Ragnarok also stars Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Anthony Hopkins, Jeff Goldblum and Karl Urban, and hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
