'Transformers: Age of Extinction' has just debuted a new trailer, and it's been released just in time to play before this weekend's 'Godzilla.' It's as if Michael Bay and company are saying "yeah, you've may have a fire breathing gigantic lizard, but we've got fire breathing gigantic dinobots. Check. Mate."

And Optimus Prime riding a dinobot and said fire breather definitely make this look like a different spin than the previous films, but the world invasion and the transformer that seems to be smoking a cigar(!) are giving us flashbacks to the last couple 'Transformers' movies. Then again, when the last film made over a billion dollars worldwide, it's easy to see why they don't want to mess up a good thing. Which points out that even people who haven't cared for the last couple movies are pretty sure this is going to be one of the biggest (if not the biggest) film of the summer, and there's one big reason why: Michael Bay knows how to deliver city-sized mayhem better than anyone.

The film stars Autobots and Decepticons, but its human cast is made up of Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, T.J. Miller, Kelsey Grammer and Stanley Tucci, as well as a voice cast that includes John Goodman, Ken Watanabe, Peter Cullen and more. Here's the film's synopsis:

The film begins after an epic battle that left a great city torn, but with the world saved. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history… while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth in its crosshairs. With help from a new cast of humans, Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a war of good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.

‘Transformers 4′ hits theaters on June 27. And here's the latest poster:
