2012 Emmy Awards: Julia Louis-Dreyfus Nabs Outstanding Leading Actress in a Comedy for ‘Veep’
Well, we can't say we saw that coming! Sorry Amy Poehler, Hanna Horvath Lena Dunham, Melissa McCarthy, Edie Falco, Zooey Deschanel and Tina Fey! Julia Louis-Dreyfus has officially taken the 2012 Emmy for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Comedy Series, winning for her role as Vice President Selina Meyer of HBO's 'Veep.'
Dreyfus win was punctuated by an adorable bit where 'Parks and Recreation' star Amy Poehler rushed to hug Dreyfus for her win, "accidentally" taking a bit of her acceptance speech with her! Poehler jumped onstage to return the crumpled paper when Dreyfus stumbled in her speech, but by the end "accidentally" read a bit Poehler had scribbled on the paper about her own win.
This marks Julia Louis-Dreyfus third career Emmy, as well. Well, what do you say? Did Dreyfus deserve to be the one who took the gold? Who were you most hoping would win Outstanding Leading Actress in a Comedy Series? Give us your pics!
