'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' is set to hit DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow, August 19, but before then, take a look at some behind-the-scenes footage, courtesy of Yahoo Movies, showing just how Jamie Foxx assumed the role of Electro.

Most intricate makeup processes take multiple hours in transforming actors into their onscreen characters (see such creations as Mystique from 'X-Men: First Class' and the original trilogy, and 'Hellboy'), and the work put into Electro looks just as time-consuming, though the end results are well worth it. As Foxx even says, the application of the makeup inspired him to take on more of the character, including his vocal chord-scarred voice.

In addition to the behind-the-scenes makeup process, Yahoo Movies also released a deleted scene from 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' featuring the pre-Electro-ed Max Dillon trying to get his health-stricken mother to wish him a happy birthday. While the final cut offered a look inside the character's lackluster home life, this scene reveals more of his mother's harsh, unsympathetic nature.
