Admittedly, we'd have likely tuned in for CBS' upcoming Shawn Ryan-helmed 'Beverly Hills Cop' TV series regardless of who from the film franchise cast put in an appearance, but we're glad to see Eddie Murphy won't be shoving bananas into tailpipes all by his lonesome. At long last, it seems Judge Reinhold has signed on to reprise his role as Billy Rosewood for the upcoming pilot, but have the years been as good to Billy as they have to Axel Foley? And where does young Aaron fit in?

Some said that a 'Beverly Hills Cop' TV series wouldn't have been the same without Eddie Murphy, but for our money we've been waiting for news of Judge Reinhold. Finally, our day has come, as The Wrap reports that Reinhold will indeed put in an appearance for the forthcoming Brandon T. Jackson-starring pilot, alongside Reinhold's former on-screen partner and the TV pilot's producer Eddie Murphy.

In addition to Reinhold's Rosewood cahracter receiving a "big promotion from his old job," the 'Beverly Hills Cop' TV pilot focuses Axel Foley’s son Aaron Foley (Brandon T. Jackson) working to “take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous, while simultaneously trying to escape the shadow of his larger than life father.” Rounding out the cast thus far is 'The Office' star David Denman as the younger Foley's partner, 'Argo' star Sheila Vand as a fellow officer, Christine Lahti as the captain, and comedian Kevin Pollak playing the role of the department’s in-house lawyer.

What say you? Are you interested in seeing what CBS does with a ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ TV series, now that both Judge Reinhold and Eddie Murphy have signed on for appearances? At last, our nightmares are averted!
