New ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Set Photo Reveals an Unlikely Alliance
The most obvious draw in Captain America: Civil War is getting to see so many superheroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe throw down. The quieter, more appealing draw is getting to watch the unlikely partnerships that develop on each side of this conflict. A new photo from the set has revealed a duo that’s going to stop the hearts of fan fiction writers all over the internet: Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, aka, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
As you can see in the tweet below, Captain America’s two best buds are going to have at least one big scene together. The fact that Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are both in uniform suggests that they are either running towards or from someone or something:
Since this is a Marvel Studios movie, we expect these two to exchange their fair share of colorful banter, dropping quips about which one of them is Cap’s real best friend. Heck, if the science-powered friendship between Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in The Avengers can light up the internet’s imagination, imagine what the friendship triangle between Steve Rogers, Bucky, and Sam will do! Imagine the fun art and cute comics! Don’t imagine the, uh, other things this will inspire!
In all seriousness, images like this only whet our appetite for what sounds like one of the craziest movies in the MCU yet. We’re less excited about big action scenes and more excited about what will transpire when so many disparate characters get to share the same room. It’s going to be fun watching these heroes punch each other in the face, but it’s going to be more fun seeing what Ant-Man has to say to the Vision. We’re sure Bucky and Sam will have plenty of things to say to each other when they’re not running and kicking and smashing.
Captain America: Civil War will arrive on May 6, 2015.
