Rumors have been circulating for a while that Disney wants Chris Pratt to star in a reboot of Indiana Jones. Then there was the report from late last week: Steven Spielberg is interested in returning to the franchise to direct Pratt in the reboot — well, you know, as long as there’s a good script. Last time Pratt was asked about the rumors, he didn’t have much to say, but on the red carpet at last night’s Oscars he was a bit more talkative about the possibility of starring in the franchise.

In the above interview with MTV, Pratt is asked about the Indiana Jones rumors, and while he reveals that no one from Disney has contacted him about the possibility, Pratt says he’s not intimidated by the idea:

It’s all nothing until it’s something and so far it’s not something….I don’t think it’s overwhelming to contemplate….I don’t know. It’d be cool. No one’s called me. There’s a lot of talk about it. The pressure would come just because it’s such a great franchise you wouldn’t want to get it wrong, so for me it would have to be perfect to do it. We’ll see, like I said it’s nothing until it’s something.

At the very least, Pratt does appear interested in taking on the iconic role. But until there’s a script or some active developments being made on Disney’s part, it’s — as Pratt says — nothing for the time being. It’s just a thought, really, but one we’re totally okay with.
