Anyone who's been to Comic-Con in the last few years (and hopefully we'll see you at Comic-Con 2012) will instantly recognize the many Showtime-adorned advertisements, including the very straps that keep our badges in place.  As usual, 'Dexter' is going to maintain a large presence at Comic-Con 2012, but apart from the badges, what does Showtime have cooked up for publicity, and why does the internet find them so hilarious?

Not sure if internet fad, or Showtime's new 'Dexter' campaign...for Comic-Con 2012, it would seem that Showtime is turning to the internet to help promote 'Dexter's presence, and the forthcoming seventh season.  Entertainment Weekly has unveiled 6 brand-new meme-themed 'Dexter' posters, which will be seen all over town during this year's San Diego Comic-Con. More than just 'Dexter' however,'  the network will unveil meme posters of all of its major shows.

Referencing both the character's nature and the events of  the shocking season 6 finale "This is the Way the World Ends," the meme posters will be seen all around Comic-Con 2012 including through the 'Dexter' panel, taking place Thursday, July 12 at 6:00 p.m. in Ballroom 20.  In addition to members of the cast and crew present (including new addition Yvonne Strahovski), this year's 'Dexter' panel will show video of the first two minutes of 'Dexter‘s next season picking up  after last season’s cliffhanger, along with the debut of the 'Homeland' second season trailer.

Take a look at the 'Dexter' meme posters below, and tell us what you're hoping to see from Comic-Con 2012 in the comments!
