‘Community’ Season 5 Adds ‘Arrested Development’ Creator Mitch Hurwitz, Tim & Eric
We're not entirely sure when 'Arrested Development' creator Mitch Hurwitz will get back to the business of the Bluths, but the acclaimed showrunner has at least one new course load in the future: 'Community' season 5! Following showrunner Dan Harmon's lead, Hurwitz will guest in an episode of the coming NBC season, as will noted Adult Swim comedy duo Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim.
Via IGN, Hurwitz will appear in an upcoming 'Community' episode as Greendale student Preston Koogler, the "ultimate party animal" whom women want him, and men want to be. That said, "woe to the administrator who tries to stand between Koogler and good times," so look out Dean Pelton!
Worthy of note is that Hurwitz's rare acting appearance follows Dan Harmon's own brief cameo in 'Arrested Development' season 4. Elsewhere, Heidecker and Wareheim of 'Tim & Eric' fame will appear as Roger and Billy, two men involved in one of Dean Pelton’s "Grand plans for Greendale." Just a shot in the dark on our part, but we're guessing the plan involves cross-dressing.
‘Community’ season 5′s January 2 return will also see Nathan Fillion guest starring as a mysterious janitor, ‘Justified‘ star Walton Goggins guesting as another mysterious man who causes trouble for the Greendale gang, along with ‘Breaking Bad‘ star Jonathan Banks as Annie’s criminology Professor Hickey, and returns from Brie Larson, LeVar Burton, John Oliver’s Professor Duncan and comedian Rob Corddry as Jeff’s lawyer-rival Alan Connor. Donald Glover will exit the series after 5 episodes, the justifications of which caused a stir for the actor over Instagram, while Chevy Chase will not return.
Well, what say you? What other comedy greats would you want to see put in an appearance for 'Community' season 5?
