We were hoping to get more 'Dark Knight Rises' spoilers out of Thursday night's episode of the 'Late Show with David Letterman' when the funnyman interviewed Anne Hathaway, but we might have gotten a little too much information.

There's been some talk that the final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy might also be the end of the Caped Crusader (that is, if Bane gets his way), but Letterman seems to think that it definitely will be. At least, that's what he seemed to let slip during his chat with Ms. Catwoman.

When the subject turned to praising the upcoming film, Letterman said, "Of course, Batman is dead in the end," to which Anne replied, "... Dave!" The pair tried to recover by laughing uncontrollably repeating, "He's not dead!," but is there any truth to it?

"You know that's a whole thing, right?" Anne continued, citing the "wrath [he] just invited onto [his] show," and insisting to Christopher Nolan that she had no part in this. Well, fans were surly unhappy with this slip, as they stormed Twitter to vent.
