If you think that the zombie genre has gotten a little stale and shambling corpses just aren't scary anymore, then Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Techland would like to have a word with you. They just recently announced their new game, Dying Light, which will feature a day-night cycle and zombies that get supercharged when it gets dark. Grab some flashlights and plenty of D batteries for this one, folks.

Dying Light puts you in the familiar location of an urban environment overrun with the undead. Civilization has become a thing of the past and all that's left is to survive while fending off the hordes of infected. What makes things worse is that when the sun goes down, the real monsters come out and the undead get more aggressive.

To help you outrun the monster, the game will have free-running mechanics, so expect to experience an adventure akin to Mirror's Edge, but with ridiculous zombies and other dangers. There will also be a weapon-crafting component to the game, so you'll be able to make the tools that will ensure your survival until daybreak.

No concrete release date has been announced, but the game is set for release in 2014 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

What do you think of this new kind of zombie game? Will you run for your life from dusk till dawn? Let us know in the comments section after you check out these new screens.
