We're only a few weeks away from the release of 'Elysium,' Neill Blomkamp's highly-anticipated follow-up to his debut film, 'District 9.' In that film, Blomkamp created some pretty amazing and original tech and weaponry, and it seems that he's done the same for 'Elysium,' as displayed in the above video.

This new featurette takes you behind the scenes of the new film, starring Matt Damon as a citizen of a dystopian future Earth, where the poor people are left on our native planet, while the rich live up in a giant, utopian space station called Elysium, protected by a government official, played by Jodie Foster. In the featurette, Blomkamp and Damon explain how notorious design house WETA built the fascinating "Hulk suit" that Damon wears in the film.

The official synopsis:

In the year 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined planet. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the crime and poverty that is now rampant throughout the land. The only man with the chance to bring equality to these worlds is Max (Damon), an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission – one that pits him against Elysium's Secretary Delacourt (Foster) and her hard-line forces – but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well.

'Elysium' hits theaters on August 9.
