The next installment in the Fast and Furious franchise may not yet have a script, a director, or even confirmed cast members, but Universal isn’t pumping the breaks on the high-octane series — especially not after the totally bonkers Furious 7, which shattered April box office records, becoming the most successful installment to date. Via star Vin Diesel, the studio has confirmed the release date for Fast and Furious 8, arriving in 2017.

At CinemaCon (via Variety), Diesel took to the stage to announce the release date for the eighth chapter in the Fast and Furious series, which will officially arrive on April 14, 2017, in keeping with the April releases for Fast & Furious, Fast Five and Furious 7. Each of those films broke box office records, and given the track record of the franchise, it’s easy to assume that Fast and Furious 8 will do the same.

Diesel gave shout outs to the loyal fans of the franchise during his CinemaCon announcement, saying, “It means a lot to me to get your blessing,” before reminiscing about when he appeared on the same stage with co-star Paul Walker to announce Furious 7. A tearful Diesel said, “We were giddy and excited. You all gave me so much confidence. There was so much love.”

That’s what #family is for.
