Dutifully putting up with Legends of Tomorrow setup since their October premieres, both Arrow and The Flash will finally return to their own storylines just in time to close out the year on a dark note. The CW has released extended trailers for both 2015 finales “Running to Stand Still” and “Dark Waters,” while a departed star teases an impending return?

You’re warned of a few Arrow Season 4 and Flash Season 2 spoilers from here on out, but the mutual Legends crossover didn’t leave much room for either series to tease their closing installments of 2015. Thankfully, The CW rectified that, first with an extended trailer for the Trickster’s return, one that confirms Zoom will play a part in the Season 2 cliffhanger:

So reads the official “Running to Stand Still” synopsis:

MARK HAMILL, WENTWORTH MILLER AND LIAM MCINTYRE RETURN; KEIYNAN LONSDALE JOINS THE CAST AS WALLY WEST

When Mark Mardon AKA The Weather Wizard (guest star Liam McIntyre) returns to break Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) and James Jesse AKA The Trickster (guest star Mark Hamill) out of Iron Heights, Barry (Grant Gustin) must stop these rogues from taking over Central City during Christmas. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris (Candice Patton) meet Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale).

And second, Arrow dropped its own trailer for “Dark Waters,” which really seems to muddle that whole “Who’s in the grave?” thing:

Along with a synopsis:

OLIVER TAKES ON HIVE — After the city is attacked again, Oliver (Stephen Amell) makes a bold move against HIVE. Malcolm (John Barrowman) checks in on Thea (Willa Holland) and leaves her with a warning. Things take a horrible turn when Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) retaliates in a brutal manner at Oliver’s mayoral holiday party.

As if that weren’t enough, guess which former Firestorm is teasing a return to the roll, despite having been replaced for Legends of Tomorrow?

Both Arrow and The Flash will surely end 2015 on some shocking notes, but which fall finale will bring the most DC drama?
