Apart from a few peeks at Zoom and Jay Garrick, The Flash has kept most of its major Season 2 spoilers under wraps in advance of next week’s premiere. Now, however, a new look brings with it a major spoiler for Legends of Tomorrow, and could well spell doom for a Flash friend ahead.

You’re warned of some surprisingly cavalier spoilers for The Flash Season 2, but The CW seems to have released an official promo confirming what many had suspected for months. Clear as day within the new BTS footage, Legends of Tomorrow star Franz Drameh appears to be outfitted as Firestorm, standing alongside Barry Allen

When last we heard from The CW, Drameh would play the role of “Jay Jackson,” an auto mechanic and former high school football star who lost out on a chance to go pro after an injury, and finds a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew. Many had speculated that the absence of Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond from Legends casting meant Victor Garber would find a new Firestorm fusion partner, and The CW seems to be spoiling Jackson’s role as such.

Drameh’s Flash appearance also adds to the multitude of Legends setup across the first few episodes, culminating with an Arrow crossover in either series’ eighth installment. Question is - what happened to Ronnie Raymond, that Jay Jackson would step in? Hmm …

So reads the CW’s premiere synopsis of “The Man Who Saved Central City”:

BARRY DECIDES HE NEEDS TO PROTECT THE CITY ON HIS OWN

Picking up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death. Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own. When a meta-human named Atom Smasher (guest star Adam Copeland) attacks the city, Iris (Candice Patton) tells Barry that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) helps Joe (Jesse L. Martin) with his Meta Task Force.

Thus far, we know of The Flash Season 2 that The Messengers alum Shantel VanSanten will guest as DC character and Barry’s new love interest Patty Spivot, joining Masters of Sex alum Teddy Sears as Golden Age speedster Jay Garrick, Tony Todd as the voice of big bad Zoom, Insurgent star Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, Adam “Edge” Copeland’s Atom Smasher, Violett Beane as Jesse Quick and Demore Barnes as Firestorm villain Tokamak. We’ll also see the returns of Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold and Golden Glider (including their father), and likely others, while both Barry (and Jay!) have some spiffy new duds.
