The title sounds like a superhero movie (and one of the stars even played Batman — and the director made Logan, come to think of it) but Ford v Ferrari is a film of a different sort. It stars Matt Damon and Christian Bale as a true-life race car designer and driver, respectively, who team up to create a car that could win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Will they do it? Let me ask you a related question: Would they make a movie about them if they didn’t?

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

Academy Award-winners Matt Damon and Christian Bale star in FORD v FERRARI, based on the remarkable true story of the visionary American car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and the fearless British-born driver Ken Miles (Bale), who together battled corporate interference, the laws of physics, and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford Motor Company and take on the dominating race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.

There are a lot of intense accents in this trailer. Like, a lot. But Damon and Bale is an interesting actor combination, and Mangold is obviously a very solid director. I want to see what he’ll do with all those fast cars. Ford v Ferrari opens in theaters on November 15.
