Furious 7 is a highly enjoyable movie that is going to make a ton of money (the film is tracking to open with a $115 million opening weekend). This is something we can all pretty much agree on. But, that lovable lug Vin Diesel has taken his predictions to the next level: Furious 7 is going to win Best Picture at the 2016 Oscars.

In an interview with Variety, Diesel revealed his lofty goals for the upcoming movie.

Universal is going to have the biggest movie in history with this movie. It will probably win best picture at the Oscars, unless the Oscars don’t want to be relevant ever.

Watch your back, Avatar! In case you're thinking that wasn't an ironclad guarantee or that Diesel doesn't really believe in what he's selling, he took a breath and upped the ante.

This will win best picture. There is nothing that will ever come close to the power of this thing.

As deserving as Diesel, or the film's many fans, thinks Furious 7 is of Oscar glory, it's unlikely to happen. The Oscars rarely even nominate studio franchise fare, let alone give it a Best Picture trophy. Despite the positive reviews and accolades the Dark Knight, Harry Potter and Hunger Games films have received, none of them have ever been nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.

But, Diesel isn't alone. He goes on to say that the Vice Chairman of NBCUniversal agrees with him.

The head of the studio, Ron Meyer, often said when ‘Fast 5′ or ‘Fast 6′ came out, ‘If there was no number attached to these movies, they would be contenders for best picture.’ And when people see ‘Furious 7,’ they are going to agree.

Let's be honest: this is not going to happen. And, that's OK! The Fast and Furious movies were never made for Oscar voters. They're not made to win awards. They're made for real people, and this is why the franchise has resonated with such a wide audience. We're all part of the Fast and Furious #family, so who cares whether it wins an Oscar. We don't. Vin Diesel shouldn't. No one should. Just know that, like Diesel says, “There is nothing that will ever come close to the power of this thing.” And that includes Oscars.

Furious 7 opens in theaters on April 3.
