[eerie Halloween piano music plays]

It was teased recently by Jason Blum, but now it’s official: The recent Halloween legacyquel is getting two more sequels of its own, in 2020 and 2021. The pair of films are titled Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends. (At least for now. Halloween has “ended” before.)

What might more accurately be ending is the war between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode played by Jamie Lee Curtis. Curtis returned to the franchise for 2018’s Halloween after a 16 year absence following Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and Halloween: Resurrection. Fans were particularly taken with Curtis’ new take on Strode as a battle-scarred woman who had endured unimaginable trauma. She survived Halloween ... but now it looks like she’s got a lot more trouble coming her way.

Here’s John Carpenter’s tweet; he executive produced (and provided music for) the 2018 film:

And here’s what Curtis herself tweeted about the announcement:

Look for Halloween Kills on October 16, 2020 and Halloween Ends on October 15, 2021. Something tells me these movies will not be rated PG. Both will be directed by David Gordon Green, who also directed 2018’s Halloween.
