The last 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' trailer tried to play the film as a straight 'Snow White and the Huntsman'/'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' style action-horror film. It didn't work. The new red-band trailer is here and wisely recuts the movie as something of a dark, campy comedy. But does that make it any better?

This new 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' red-band trailer certainly benefits from its red-band status with lots of blood, beheadings and people exploding. And instead of trying to act super serious, it acknowledges that it's story - a grown up Hansel and Gretel hunt witches - is a little goofy.

But while this is an improvement over the first trailer, it still doesn't look like a great movie (the CGI, for example, looks super cheap).

'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' should've been released already but the film was delayed over 10 months while the studio figured out what to do with it. (The answer? Dump it in January and Oscar-nominee Jeremy Renner will pretend it never happened.)
