Since the massive success of Marvel's 'The Avengers,' everyone has wondered when Warner Bros. and DC Comics would get their act together and start teaming up their roster of superheroes on the big screen. Although the long-in-the-works 'Justice League' movie has started and stalled on numerous occasions, 'Man of Steel' star Henry Cavill was recently asked about another possibility. How about a Batman/Superman movie?

Speaking with SFX, Cavill said that he'd love to see his Man of Steel team up with the Dark Knight in a future film. Well, "team up" may be the wrong choice of words, since Cavill seems to be more interested in the potential conflicts between the two heroes than anything else:

I think it would be really interesting with the age-old Batman/Superman conflict, because they are two different sides of the same coin and their methods are entirely different. And I think it would actually make for an interesting story as to why, first of all, they were going head to head and how. I think that would make a great story.

Of course, an actor spitballing doesn't necessarily mean that a film is the works, but we're sure this is something the studio has thought about. Cavill himself puts it best: “Who knows, I’m sure there’s all sorts of ideas being thrown around at Warner Bros right now.”

So take this for what it is. This is not an announcement of a Batman/Superman movie and it's not a confirmation that one is even being thought about. It's simply a actor stating the obvious: such a film is not only a possibility, it's a cool idea that has decades of comic history to support it...and it's sure to make 'Avengers'-style money if handled properly.

In the meantime, 'Man of Steel' arrives in theaters on June 14. What do you think? Would you want to see Henry Cavill's Superman team up with Batman?
