At Comic-Con 2013, 'I, Frankenstein' needs to sneak attack the audience and create some hype, or this film from Lionsgate may just bite the dust at the box office. But perhaps these three new posters will start to pique your interest.

The first of them (via MTV) showcases Aaron Eckhart as Frankenstein's monster, who has been re-imagined as a badass, post-apocalyptic immortal warrior. (That sound is your high school English Literature teacher choking.) The other two posters (via /Film and Comic Book Resources) depict a gargoyle and demon, respectively, the two sides in a war in which the monster finds himself caught. Here's the official synopsis:

Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein’s creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality. From the co-writer of the hit supernatural saga, Underworld, comes the action thriller I, Frankenstein, written for the screen and directed by Stuart Beattie based on the graphic novel 'I, Frankenstein' by Kevin Grevioux, and brought to life by a cast that includes Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young as Victor Frankenstein.

The Aaron Eckhart-led horror-action movie is still an unknown quantity to most, but it couldn't have picked a better Comic-Con partner. As part of the Lionsgate panel, 'I, Frankenstein' will be paired with 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,' guaranteeing that thousands of people will be forced to sit through this panel in order to see footage from the next adventure of Katniss and company. With luck, it'll win the audience over and generate the appropriate amount of enthusiasm. It's happened before.

'I, Frankenstein' opens on January 24, 2014.
