Just as The Last Man on Earth kept the lion’s share of its first season plot under wraps (with good reason, detractors would argue), Season 2 of Lord and Miller’s Will Forte odyssey comes with an air of mystery. The first Season 2 promos offer at least some clue however, as Phil and Carol take up residence in the White House for their latest post-apocalyptic adventures.

You’re warned of basic spoilers for Season 1 of The Last Man on Earth (if they can really so be called), but Phil’s Tuscon exile hasn’t dampened his relationship with Carol (Kristen Schaal), as the two apparently leave Arizona behind for Washington D.C. The first season’s spirit of senseless destruction seems alive and well, but one wonders how January Jones or any of the other survivors will enter the mix, let alone Phil’s astronaut brother (Jason Sudeikis).

Elsewhere of The Last Man on Earth Season 2, the new run will debut on September 27, spanning somewhere between 13 and 22 episodes, while the network has also considered breaking up the second season to air both in the fall and midseason 2016. Additionally, The Office and The Interview alum Dan Sterling will serve as executive producer and showrunner, mostly taking over for the already-burdened Forte, Lord and Miller.

In addition to the trailers above, you can check out our first photos of the new season below, and speculate away as to what The Last Man on Earth (well, of three) and the last woman (okay, of four) will get up to this fall.
