Supergirl and Spider-Man Team For LEGO’s SDCC 2017 Exclusives
Last year, LEGO introduced Brick Headz to the world at San Diego Comic-Con, and the blockified-character building kits have been a staple of the company's release slate ever since. The line is still relatively small in comparison to LEGO's other vehicle and building playsets, but that Brick Headz are seeing continued support is great for LEGO fans working on a budget. This year's Comic-Con exclusives bring two more of the biggest heroes in the DC and Marvel universes to life in special two-packs focused on Supergirl and Spider-Man.
In order to get either one of these sets, you're going to have to set some time aside to wait in line at the Pavilion before the floor opens on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You will need a ticket from that line to be able to enter the LEGO line on the show floor. However, not only will you need a ticket, but the Supergirl set and the Spider-Man set won't be available at the same time. Supergirl is only available on Friday and Sunday. Spider-Man is only up for purchase on Thursday and Saturday.
It's not the greatest way to get these sets if you're hoping to get both, but it is a fair way to ensure that the same people aren't just snagging every single set before the weekend ends. Sort of.
LEGO Brick Headz Supergirl and Martian Manhunter ($40)
Based on the CW's Supergirl show, this set features the very first LEGO version of Melissa Benoist. Supergirl herself has been in LEGO form a few times, but not in this particular costume. The same goes for Martian Manhunter, who gets his black and red costume from the television show rather than the comic-based blue and red.
LEGO Brick Headz Spider-Man and Venom ($40)
Spider-Man and Venom are no strangers to the LEGO format, but these Brick Headz at least give us these characters in ways we haven't seen them before. Spider-Man's web accessories are probably the only things I don't like about this set, with Venom having some great design work for all his tentacle goodness.
San Diego Comic-Con opens on July 19. LEGO will be at booth #2829 throughout the show.
