M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Wayward Pines': FOX Casts Shannyn Sossamon Opposite Matt Dillon
And the hits keep on coming! FOX's 2014 M. Night Shyamalan limited series 'Wayward Pines' made a strong casting move recently in tapping former 'Iron Man' and 'Law & Order' star Terrence Howard, and today adds yet another figure in 'Mistresses' star Shannyn Sossamon, but which lead character will she have the most ties with?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sossamon will take the series regular role of Theresa Burke, wife of Ethan (Matt Dillon). The pair met while she was a trainee in the Secret Service, before she duty to raise their son, Ben. The character is described as intelligent, self-sufficient and magnetic, maintaining a robust relationship as she slowly loses patience with Ethan's flaws.
Starring Dillon, Howard, ‘Captain America‘ player Toby Jones, Carla Gugino and Oscar-winner Melissa Leo, based on the novel of the same name by Blake Crouch and written by Chad Hodge, ‘Wayward Pines’ follows Secret Service agent Ethan Burke as he travels to Wayward Pines, Idaho on a mission to find two missing federal agents. The series is said to be in the vein of ‘Twin Peaks.’
'Wayward Pines' will debut on FOX as a limited series in 2014, similar to FOX’s recent orders of ‘The Following‘ and ‘24: Live Another Day.’ Who would you want to see cast next in M. Night Shyamalan's first major television project?
