‘Rick and Morty’ Celebrate Thanksgiving With Mr. Poopybutthole in New Short
Few in the galaxy know when Rick and Morty Season 4 might happen, but co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland are at least serving up seconds from a fan-favorite. See what became of Mr. Poopybutthole with an extended clip of the character’s new life.
Even as the bizarre character has been largely absent since his near-fatal shooting in Season 2’s “Total Rickall,” the Season 3 finale briefly caught us up with the creature and his new family. Now, Adult Swim has released an emotional new short titled “The Poop in My Pants,” as the character flips through a scrapbook of his new wife and child.
The clip still features closing moments and credits from the October finale, so we’d bet that “The Poop in My Pants” served as an alternate coda, or perhaps wasn’t finished by the time of airing. There are more than a few easter eggs to discover as well, including references to episodes in which Mr. Poopybutthole didn’t appear (note the “toxic” photo strip), and a few hints at travel to another universe.
Hopefully Rick and Morty can pump out the occasional short while the long wait for Season 4 continues. In the meantime, chop some onions, and good luck explaining this one to your family.
