Early reports on 'SNL' season 40's inaugural three hosts pegged 'Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt and comedian Sarah Silverman, though it seems reports of series alum Bill Murray were only half-right. 'SNL' has indeed tapped a legendary departed cast member for its third season 40 host, that of more recent alumni Bill Hader!

NBC's 'SNL' Twitter account confirmed news of 'Hader' returning to the Studio 8H stage on October 11, also cementing the earlier report that pegged musical guest Hozier among the initial season 40 acts. The long-running NBC sketch comedy series has been on a whirlwind of transition lately, no doubt placing burden on 2012 departure (and 'The Skeleton Twins' star) Bill Hader to bring a bit of the old familiar. And while Seth Meyers may not be around, Stefon surely can't be far behind for the new Weekend Update.

Most recently adding comedian Pete Davidson as a featured player, 'SNL''s 40th anniversary season will see season 39 addition Mike O'Brien returning to the writer's room, complimenting the departures of fellow freshmen Brooks Wheelan, Noël Wells and John Milhiser. 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star Chris Pratt will host the September 27 premiere accompanied by Ariana Grande, followed by Sarah Silverman and Maroon 5 .

Hader's presence has been so intertwined with our memories of 'SNL' over the past few years that his October 11 return will feel like no time at all has passed, but what do you think? Does the season 40 lineup of Pratt, Silverman and Hader have you excited for the September 27 premiere? Why not let Stefon tell you the hotspots himself?
