Three of the four hosts of 'SNL''s 40th anniversary season have either been alumni or revered performers past, and the November premiere will take from both columns. Following Jim Carrey and Iggy Azalea's October 25 installment, 'SNL' alum Chris Rock will return to the 'SNL' stage for the first time since 1996, bringing along none other than Prince.

NBC announced the impressive November 1 pairing today, having earlier confirmed Carrey's October 25 return during this past Saturday's Bill Hader episode. Like Sarah Silverman before him, Rock has a lesser-known past with the series, having been among the cast from 1990-1993, and hosting in 1996. Prince, meanwhile, has performed on 'SNL' both in 1981 and in 2006.

No doubt NBC has been looking to capitalize on some of its bigger names on the road to its 40th anniversary special in 2015, with even more alumni sure to come before 2014 is out. As for what either Prince or Rock have to promote, the vaguely-named-but-legendary singer has had two new albums in recent months (yes, months), while Chris Rock will have 'Top Five' bowing in December.

What do you think? Has 'SNL' been on a roll with alumni, enough that Chris Rock and Prince might bring the house down? Tell us who you want to see host 'SNL' season 40 in the comments!
