We know, we know. Star Wars Rebels Season 2 already premiered a sample of its second round by the stellar “Siege of Lothal,” but the real debut of new Star Wars Rebels has at last set its premiere. Lock down your hyperdrives for October, when the crew of the Ghost takes on the mantle of Star Wars Rebels once more for Season 2.

Its Blu-ray and DVD release set for Tuesday, Star Wars Rebels debuted the first clip of the new season, simultaneously confirming that new episodes would premiere on Wednesday, October 14 at 9:30 P.M. The new clip sees Ahsoka Tano setting off on her own mission (cough, Darth Vader!), but giving the Ghost crew a bit of Clone Wars history, and tasking them with finding her “friends.”

Not only that, but Star Wars Rebels Season 2 has a lovely new synopsis:

In Star Wars Rebels Season Two, past lives will be revealed and the destiny of our heroes will be changed forever. The transformative new season resumes with Imperial oppression on Lothal growing stronger and the Rebels seeking out new allies and additional resources to sustain their fight against the evil Empire. With the help of Ahsoka Tano, the crew of the Ghost enlists some old friends: ex-clone troopers who fought in the Clone Wars.

As the Rebels grow in number, so do their enemies. New Inquisitors are dispatched by Darth Vader and sent to crush any threat of rebellion. Through dangerous rescue missions, thrilling space chases, and spectacular lightsaber duels — the bond of our Rebel crew will be put to the test like never before.

In addition to the return of Clone Wars favorites Captain Rex, Ahsoka Tano and Hondo Ohnaka, the second season of Star Wars Rebels will also pave the way for an episode penned by Star Wars: Rogue One screenwriter Gary Whitta. Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, will also lend her voice to an unknown role, speculated to be that of a young Princess Leia, while Sam Witwer will voice Emperor Palpatine.

Star Wars Rebels Season 2 will also hold a special presentation and screening in New York Comic-Con in October, but check out the clip above and trailer below, and prepare for the October 14 premiere!
