As much as we like a good 'Supernatural' blast from the past, a trip to the future can be even more fun.  So for as many 'Supernatural' allies have come to aid the Winchester bros. over the last seven years, few have been as well received as DJ Qualls' eccentric hunter Garth, confirmed to be back (presumably with his puppet) next season!  But what new 'Futurama' face (or voice) will join the crew as well, and who will they play?

According to Pop Culture Zoo and The Hollywood Reporter, 'Supernatural' season 8 has plenty to look forward to in the guest star department.  While promoting his upcoming FX series 'Legit' at the TCA press tour panel, Qualls revealed that he'd soon be heading to Vancouver to film yet another guest spot as hunter Garth Fitzgerald, having previously recurred several times throughout the seventh season.

In a (potentially) unrelated connection, 'Futurama' star Lauren Tom (Amy Wong) will make a rare live-action appearance across at least one episode of the series, starring as the "intense and overbearing" mother of one of season 8's characters.  Her introduction to the 'Supernatural' world is also said to be "dramatic."

Elsewhere, ‘Battlestar Galactica’ veteran Ty Olsson will appear in an important recurring role, that of a vampire named “Benny,” whom Dean meets during his stay in purgatory and ultimately helps him escape from said predicament.  Liane Balaban (‘Alphas,’ ‘Covert Affairs’) will appear as Sam’s new love interest Amelia, developed in the time the brothers spent separated, but ended by the season premiere.

What say you?  Are you excited to have DJ Qualls back, or see Lauren Tom in person?  What do you think will happen in 'Supernatural' season 8?  Sound off in the comments below!
