Just when you thought the 'Amazing Spider-Man 2's' list of villains wasn't large enough, in steps Chris Cooper to join the cast as the infamous Green Goblin.

So far it looks like director Marc Webb is taking a note from Sam Raimi by filling in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' with as many comic book villains as possible. If you remember, Raimi's final film in his trilogy featured Venom, Sandman and James Franco picking up his father's mantle as the Green Goblin. With Webb, we already know we'll be seeing Jaimie Foxx as Electro and Paul Giamatti as the Rhino, but now Chris Cooper has just been thrown into the mix.

According to THR, Dane DeHaan, who was cast as the young Harry Osborn not too long ago, now has an on-screen father in Cooper, who'll be playing Norman Osborn, the alter ego of the Green Goblin (the same villain played by Willem Dafoe in the original trilogy). However, it is not yet known at this point whether we'll be seeing Cooper surfing the skies in this film (or perhaps in a subsequent sequel). Norman starts off in the Spider-Man storyline as a mentor to Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), and we hope to see him in this same capacity in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2.'

Aside from Garfield and the villainous duo of Foxx and Giamatti, Cooper will be featured in the film along with Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), Shailene Woodley (Mary Jane Watson) and Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborn).
