Guillermo del Toro is famous for attaching himself to projects that immerse moviegoers in vast, fantastical worlds, and the new 'Book of Life' trailer previews his upcoming venture across three mystical settings during the Day of the Dead.

The film is marketed as "not your typical fairy tale," and in its defense, it's not, despite the cheekiness of some of the characters. With a voice cast led by Diego Luna, Zoe Saldana and Channing Tatum, 'The Book of Life' tells the tale of Manolo as he attempts to reunite with the love of his life, Maria, after traveling to The Land of the Remembered.

While this new 'Book of Life' trailer totes more of the film's humor, especially when it comes to Tatum's muscle-flexing prince and Ice Cube's Zeus-looking character, our previous look at footage gave us more information on the plot, which involves two spirits making a wager on which suitor will land Maria's hand in marriage. When Manolo starts winning her heart, one spirit intervenes.

'The Book of Life' hits theaters this Halloween, and although it looks almost too cheesy with lines you just know the kids in your life will be quoting until next year, del Toro's attachment as a producer and the film's unique animation style are enough to get our butts in the seats.
