As with most of his films, reception to news that The Flash had hired Kevin Smith to direct an outing proved decidedly mixed, but another comic name may help steer the course. X-Men: First Class writer Zack Stentz will pen the upcoming Flash episode, which has already entered production.

Fellow Thor and upcoming Power Rangers reboot writer confirmed as much over Twitter, hiding the 21st Flash Season 2 outing’s title, but noting that production appears to have already begun. No plot details have yet been confirmed, though the episode is likely to air in late April or early May.

In the meantime, so reads The Flash’s March 22 return summary for “Trajectory”:

THERE IS A NEW SPEEDSTER IN CENTRAL CITY; WILL THE FLASH BE ABLE TO KEEP UP? – Deciding to blow off some steam, Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team head out for a night on the town only to encounter an unexpected speedster who is up to no good. Iris (Candice Patton) is challenged by an assignment.

No doubt Smith and The CW will released additional details over the coming weeks, but what should we expect from Kevin Smith’s Flash outing under Zack Stentz?
