Even with the flurry of activity at AMC over the past few days, we haven't forgotten about the upcoming June 2 premiere of 'The Killing' season 3, rescued from cancellation by a joint deal between AMC and Netflix. The all-new season will see Holder and Linden reunited for a new case with ties to Linden's past, but would you like to see a first look at the new episodes? See 'The Killing's' detectives back in action for season 3 inside!

After a near-permanent cancellation, 'The Killing' will return on June 2, picking up with an all-new case that draws Detective Linden (Mireille Enos) back into the fold of the rainy Seattle murder-mystery. AMC has today posted the first official photos from season 3, which appear to be from the second half of the two-hour premiere.

We don't see much other than Linden investigating a clue, while Holder (Joel Kinnaman) overlooks another scene with his new partner, Carl Reddick (Gregg Henry). Holder certainly seems to have cleaned up his act, no longer sporting the hoodie look worn throughout the first two seasons.

The new season of the AMC drama will open up a year after the close of the Rosie Larsen murder that dominated the first two seasons, with Linden having left the force until ex-partner Stephen Holder’s search for a runaway girl leads him to discover a gruesome string of murders that connects to Linden’s previous murder investigation. ‘The Killing’ season 3 understandably won’t involve the Larsen Family, nor will seasons 1 and 2 regular Mayor Darren Richmond (Billy Campbell) appear.

In addition to the recent casting of ‘BSG’ vet Aaron Douglas, ‘Flashpoint’s’ Hugh Dillon, Johnny Ray Gill and Peter Sarsgaard’s role as death row inmate and sinisterly dominant “lifelong convict” Tom Seward, ‘The Killing' season 3 also boasts among its cast Amy Semeitz, Max Fowler and Elias Koteas.
