'Silver Linings Playbook' asks an important question: are audiences interested in watching Katniss Everdeen and that guy from 'The Hangover' try to overcome crippling sadness for two hours? The success of the film depends on the answer to that question being a "yes." The new poster for the film does its best to convince you of that "yes," mainly by reminding you of how gorgeous its lead actors are.

Of course, by "Katniss Everdeen," I mean Oscar nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence and by "that guy from 'The Hangover,'" I mean not-Oscar-nominated Bradley Cooper. However, the real draw for movie fans is not those pretty faces (although just try to not get lost in those eyes), but director David O. Russell, the often troubled but generally brilliant man behind 'The Fighter,' 'I Heart Huckabees' and 'Three Kings.' His involvement in the this project is the only thing keeping this post from being a series of Bradley Cooper Wants An Oscar jokes.

Based on the book by Matthew Quick, the film finds Cooper and Lawrence striking up a relationship after he is released from a stint in a mental institution. There will probably be a lot of awkward social interactions, sad staring and moments of wacky comic relief from Robert DeNiro, who plays Cooper's father. Anyway, here's that poster:

'The Silver Linings Playbook' opens on November 21st. Although not a surefire Oscar contender, that release date, the director and the involvement of the Weinstein Company means it will probably be positioned as such.
