Earlier this week, were were surprised and elated to learn that 'Sherlock' and 'Star Trek 2' star Benedict Cumberbatch had reached status iconic enough to lend a voice to 'The Simpsons' in the near future, but at the time nothing specific was said about the role.  Now, in advance of Comic-Con 2012, we've learned that Cumberbatch will take not just one, but two roles!  What's 'Sherlock,' playing, and what episode can we see him in?

According to TVLine, Benedict Cumberbatch has deduced himself a double-whammy in taking two separate roles for his upcoming turn on FOX's iconic animated family series 'The Simpsons.'  We learned earlier this week that Cumberbatch had secured himself a role, but now it's being reported that Cumberbatch will play both British Prime Minister and a snake-like character in an episode titled “Love Is A Many-Splintered Thing,” set for 'The Simpsons' 24th season.

Cumberbatch had previous earned the role in a somewhat unusual way to most 'Simpsons' guest stars, as he puts it:

I was at a meeting in the same place The Simpsons is recorded and heard there was a part going in an episode. I said ‘I hate to muscle in here guys but could I record it?’ Next thing, I’m standing in a room with all those famous voices; Bart, Marge, Homer, Lisa.

What say you?  Will you tune in to see hear Cumberbatch on ‘The Simpsons' when season 24 rolls around?  Tell us your favorite guest stars in the comments below!
