On Wednesday, Microsoft announced when the Xbox One would be made available globally. But when will you be able to enjoy the next-gen console?

The Xbox One will release on Nov. 22. With games like Call of Duty: Ghosts, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome to bolster its launch, the Xbox One seems primed to go toe-to-toe with the PlayStation 4, even though it's arriving one week earlier on Nov. 15.

There's been a bit of a heated battle between Microsoft and Sony these past few months, with each manufacturer seemingly trying to one-up the other with surprise announcements. First Sony dropped the $399 price point at E3, after Microsoft revealed its plans to launch Xbox One for $499. Sony announced the PS4 release date at Gamescom, where it was believed Microsoft would do the same.

Now we know the date, and can work on getting our finances in order for one of the biggest Novembers in quite a few years.
