Vin Diesel Confirms ‘Furious 8’ New York Setting in New Image, Teases ‘xXx 3’ Sequence
Vin Diesel is the most prolific reporter of Vin Diesel news, and his latest social media posts offer a couple of updates on two of his big upcoming projects: Furious 8 and xXx 3. The actor has posted a new promo image for Universal’s upcoming Fast and Furious sequel, which confirms the New York setting and offers an appropriate tagline, while two other photos tease an interesting action sequence in xXx 3.
First, Diesel posted this photo on Instagram, though it’s unclear if this is an official promo image for the public or something that was originally just whipped up for the studio:
The image confirms the New York setting, and seems to indicate the the sequel is titled Fast 8, not Furious 8, which would follow Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, and Furious 7. We also recently learned that Universal and director F. Gary Gray have been scouting prospective locations in Cuba, Iceland and Russia.
Diesel additionally shared an update from xXx 3 on both Facebook and Instagram, teasing a longboard sequence — okay, who had money on “Vin Diesel rides a longboard in his next action movie”?
Training for Xander is so much fun… can’t wait to film this long board sequence that the director showed me.Have a great weekend all…
That first photo looks like an Abercrombie & Fitch ad.
Furious 8 is set to hit theaters on April 14, 2017, while D.J. Caruso will begin filming xXx: The Return of Xander Cage later this month in Toronto for an unspecified release date.
