I imagine my reaction to the news that Disney and Lucasfilm were going to make a movie about “Young Han Solo” — and that said film was going to be directed by the dynamic duo of Phil Lord and Chris Miller — was the same as a lot of other movie nerds. It went something like this. First:

“Young Han Solo? Amazing! By Phil Lord and Chris Miller? Double Amazing!”

Followed immediately by:

“Wait, young Han Solo? How young is young? Are we looking at Li’l Anakin all over again?”

That, frankly, is the stuff of nightmares. The possibility of Li’l Han (a concept George Lucas actually considered using in one of the Star Wars prequels) makes Greedo shooting first look like Han shooting first.

Thankfully, I can now report that Baby Han is not something we need to worry about ever again (at least until George Lucas unretires). Star Wars head honcho Kathleen Kennedy spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the Han Solo spinoff, and while she was pretty stingy on the details, she did confirm that the young Han Solo won’t be that young when we meet him.

“He’ll definitely be probably in the high teens, low 20s,” Kennedy says. “We’re not introducing you to a 10-year-old Han Solo.”

Phew.

Wait a second; “definitely” but also “probably”? Which is it? Is he definitely that old or probably that old? Do I need to keep worrying about the possibility of Li’l Han rearing his adorable head once more? It honestly doesn’t seem that way. But until they cast this guy, at least some small part of me is going to be a little bit nervous. As Han Solo taught me, you don’t get cocky. That always turns out badly.

The untitled young Han Solo Star Wars Anthology film opens in theaters on May 25, 2018. Say it with me now:
