In just one week, 'The Flash' will make his speedy CW debut with October 7 series premiere "City of Heroes" (yes, just like the 'Arrow' episode). We've seen a few bits and pieces of the pilot here and there, but there's something ghostly familiar about our first full clip from the new superhero series...

If our first extended look at 'The Flash' rings a few bells for 'Arrow' fans, worth noting is that we originally saw Barry (Grant Gustin)'s fateful encounter with a bolt of lightning back in midseason finale "Three Ghosts," shortly after the character returned to Central City. The new version inserts a short bit with Jesse L. Martin's Detective West reacting to the particle accelerator explosion elsewhere, while the pilot itself puts Barry's origin in a slightly broader context.

Greenlit for 13 episodes and with additional scripts already ordered, ‘The Flash’ also boasts among its cast Tom Cavanaugh’s Dr. Harrison Wells, Candice Batton's Iris West, Danielle Panabaker's Caitlin Snow and Carlos Valdes’ Cisco Ramon, original 'Flash' John Wesley Shipp as Barry's father Henry Allen, and ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ star Rick Cosnett as Central City Police transfer Detective Eddie Thawne.

Additionally, 'Arrow' star Stephen Amell's cousin Robbie has also signed on to play an incarnation of DC superhero Firestorm, joining such colorful DC characters as Kelly Frye's Plastique, 'Prison Break' stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell as Captain Cold and Heat Wave, Robert Knepper's returning Clock King, Greg Finley's Girder, and Clancy Brown's General Wade Eiling.

While we wait for next Tuesday's premiere, check out the first full clip from 'The Flash' above, and tell us in the comments what you want to see from the new DC drama!
