It's been a good while since we've heard much from 'American Horror Story,' adopting the title 'American Horror Story: Coven' for its (presumably) witch-filled season. Now, the buzz-worthy horror-drama announced that Oscar-nominated 'Precious' star and 'The Big C' vet Gabourey Sidibe will join the cast in season 3, but will series creator Ryan Murphy reveal anything about her role? Find out the latest on 'American Horror Story: Coven' inside!

Perhaps even more-so than 'American Horror Story: Asylum,' the FX drama's third season 'Coven' will likely keep details to a minimum until its October premiere. At least one new bit emerged today, however, as Murphy announced that actress Gabourey Sidibe would join the cast. Having starred in Showtime's 'The Big C,' Sidibe is best remembered for her Oscar-nominated turn as the titular center of 'Precious,' based on the novel 'Push' by Sapphire.

Somewhat expectedly, Murphy revealed no detail's of Gabourey Sidibe's role within the season, at least for the moment. Sidibe joins 'American Horror Story: Coven' newcomer Kathy Bates,' along with returning franchise regulars Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson.

Murphy revealed only select details of the FX drama’s third season, including that ‘Coven’ will have a love story focus akin to the one between Violet (Farmiga) and Tate (Peters) in season 1. The third outing will be set in the modern day across several cities, occasionally dipping back into the past as the narrative requires.

Well, what say you? Does the addition of Gabourey Sidibe to 'American Horror Story: Coven' have you any more interested in the mysterious new season? What do you think the third year of Ryan Murphy's FX horror vehicle will bring?
