Though her voice proved easily identifiable when Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' revealed its first trailer back in May, 'Avengers' and 'How I Met Your Mother' star Cobie Smulders recently delighted franchise fans with the confirmation that Agent Maria Hill would indeed be present for the Marvel series pilot. With 'HIMYM' coming to a close, however, what does Smulders have to say about Hill potentially recurring down the road?

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Smulders acknowledged that she'd be happy to return to 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' for the occasional guest spot as the storytelling dictates, though a recurring commitment might prove difficult given the career changes ahead of her.

"I'm up for it, it's just a matter of the direction that they decide to go with the show," Smulders told the publication. "I don't know how much they'll be at the Command Center and how much they need me around. If it works out organically with the storyline, then I'd be happy to come in but I truly don't know."

Smulders also revealed her intent to move to New York following nine years spent in Los Angeles for 'How I Met Your Mother,' as well as focus on film and theater above returning to television, further complicating any notion of Maria Hill recurring with any regularity. Nonetheless, the actress expressed her enthusiasm for working with Joss Whedon once more, as well as 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' heads Jed Whedon and wife Maurissa Tancharoen allowing her to be the one to reveal Coulson's return.

While we wait for the September 24 premiere, Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ features a cast that includes Clark Gregg’s resurrected Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na as veteran agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as hacker Skye, and Elizabeth Henstridge and Iain De Caestecker as science team Gemma Simmons and Leo Fitz. Nick Fury himself, Samuel L. Jacksonpreviously stated that he expected to be involved with the show in some small capacity, while ‘Ghost Whisperer’ vet David Conrad has joined in an unknown part and Sam Rockwell is game to reprise his ‘Iron Man’ role of Justin Hammer, by his own word.

Well, what say you? Are you disappointed Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' might not see Cobie Smulders make many appearances as Maria Hill, at least early on?
