Woo! Just minutes after ABC gave fans the most eagerly anticipated announcement that Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' would go to series, so too have a number of other ABC favorites been renewed. 'Castle,' 'Once Upon A Time,' 'Modern Family' 'Scandal,' 'Nashville,' 'Revenge,' 'Suburgatory' and 'Grey's Anatomy' have all earned additional season orders at the network, so find out the latest inside!
Admittedly, 'Scandal' doesn't deserve that kind of joke, given its relatively solid rating and overall critical acceptance, but we're somewhat surprised that 'The Neighbors' managed to survive the critical pounding it took in its early days. Regardless, ABC has opted to pick up both the Shonda Rhimes political thriller and the wacky extraterrestrial comedy up for full seasons, leaving the fate of its other dramas uncertain. So who's still on the bubble?
Boy, that Shonda Rhimes seems to be dropping axes left and right these days. First 'Grey's Anatomy' lost a few key cast members from their season finale, then 'Private Practice' faced a string of cuts going into its potentially final year, and now freshman hit 'Scandal' is losing one of its best members. But, with the latest axing, might the door open for a recurring presence on 'Fringe's final season?
It has been a VERY busy day for all of the major networks, with Upfront events taking place next week. We've already seen both NBC and The CW go through the 'Ringer,' literally and figuratively, and now ABC has unveiled its own massive list of pickups, renewals and cancellations. And what's good news for Connie Britton and 'Private Practice,' spells doom further down 'The River.
