HBO Renews 'True Blood' and 'The Newsroom'

We hope you like sexy vampires and hard-hitting journalism, because HBO is about to give you another helping!  Though they certainly make for strange bedfellows on Sunday nights, The pay-cabler network has officially given renewal orders for a sixth season of 'True Blood,' and a second season of Aaron Sorkin's hotly-debated newsroom drama, titled eloquently enough 'The Newsroom.'  So when might we see new helpings?

Between 'True Blood's upcoming fifth season, and the current run of 'Game of Thrones,' there hasn't been a whole lot of promotion in the way of Aaron Sorkin's return to TV in the Jeff Daniels-starring 'The Newsroom.'   No longer!  With a June 24 premiere mere weeks away, HBO has given us  our third official trailer, but is it more 'West Wing' or 'Studio 60?'

Sure, 'Game of Thrones' is great and all (I mean, did you see last night's "The Ghost of Harrenhal?"), but with 'Boardwalk Empire' still on hiatus, it may feel like we've been a little lacking for down-to-Earth HBO drama.  So before we settle in this summer, how about a fresh look at Aaron Sorkin's upcoming news drama 'The Newsroom?'
